GVB and the Tourism Fiasco
Where are we?
In a tourism crisis and we as the people need to act. We're below 50% of Guam's 2019 state of tourism.
Where would we like to ?
Bring Guam up to the pre-covid tourism state or even better.
How do we get there?
See what the tourist owuld like to come and travel to guam for a good time.
How do we make sure we get there?
We need to make sure that Guam will have a steady pace of tourists coming to Guam and if we do we'd just need to maintain that steady pace.
How do we know if we got there?
We need to look at the data base to see if we are in the clear or not.
11/14/24 4 Ps of Marketing Mix
1. Product
I’d start by focusing on the types of cars available at Guam Auto Spot. I’d make sure I know the different kinds of cars we sell: sedans, SUVs, trucks, and even used cars. For each type of car, I’d talk about the features that make them special, like fuel efficiency, safety ratings, or cool technology (Bluetooth, backup cameras, etc.). If we have cars that are certified pre-owned, I’d mention that they’ve been inspected and come with a warranty, which gives customers extra peace of mind.
2. Price
I’d make sure to know the prices of the cars and explain them clearly to potential buyers. Since many people may want to negotiate or look for deals, I’d mention any special offers or discounts available, such as holiday sales or trade-in offers where they can get money off by trading in their old car. I’d also talk about payment options like financing plans or how they can make monthly payments if the car price is a bit high.
3. Place
When it comes to place, I’d focus on where customers can find the cars. Since Guam Auto Spot is located in a good area, I’d mention how easy it is to come down to the dealership. If the store is close to local hangout spots, I’d tell customers they could stop by when they’re in the area. I’d also talk about how they can check out the inventory online, look at photos, and read about the cars before even visiting. If they want to see a car in person or test drive it, I’d make sure they know they can easily schedule a test drive online or come in at a convenient time.
4. Promotion
For promotion, I’d use social media to spread the word. I could share cool pictures of the cars on Instagram or Facebook and mention any special sales happening. Maybe I could even make short videos showing off the features of popular cars. I’d also tell people about special events like weekend sales, where customers can come in for a limited-time discount. To get more people to visit, I’d talk about a referral program, where existing customers can get a reward if they refer a friend who buys a car.

5. Add two more recommendations to "How you can help".
Promote local attractions

6. Which feedback from the Japanese visitor surprised you the most and why?
"dirt and grime on the walls" yes there dirt everywhere but to think the hotels have rules and policies but yet the buildings aren't up to standard.
7. Which feedback from the Korean visitor surprised you the most and why?
"poor room condition and outdated hotels fatalities relative to pricing" because why would we pay so much for things that don't meet the amount we pay.
8. How do you feel about these images visitors are exposed to in Tumon?
Honestly it makes me mad in a way , Guam used to be so beautiful and lovely to be in but those pictures. But now its just sad to visit and live in.
9. What is your reaction to the state of tourism in Guam?
It's sad to say but Guam isn't as amazing as before. The trash on the land and in the water , no where is fun anymore It's just getting boring to visit. It's just not the same as before. Yes our beaches are lovely but the trash takes away the value from it.

Oct 17, 2024 Article "Protestors in Spain told tourists to go home!"
The anti-tourism protests in Barcelona emerged as a response to the city's struggles with over tourism, which led to rising living costs, overcrowded neighborhoods, and a decline in local quality of life. Activists voiced their concerns about the negative impacts of mass tourism, including environmental degradation and the loss of cultural identity.
Honestly, I think that sometimes too much tourist can affect alot of people. Yes its good that they want to see the world but they should also remember that other people live there. Everywhere is lovely to good and visit. But sometimes visitors over stay and of course that will bother alot of people. Traveling in very large groups can be hard for someone who lives in a close area.
Toruism impacts
1. When traveling to a foreign country, it’s important to act in a manner that reflects how we would wish visitors to behave while visiting our own homeland. This means showing respect and kindness, adhering to local customs, and nurturing a spirit of fellowship with the locals, as it shows mutual understanding and hospitality.
2. It is essential to take the time to learn about the social practices, customs, language, and culture of our destination. Understanding these aspects can enhance the travel experience significantly, allowing us to interact with locals more meaningfully, appreciate their way of life, and navigate the cultural nuances that may exist.
3. Supporting the local economy is another crucial practice. When purchasing goods and services from local businesses, whether it's dining at a local restaurant, shopping at a market, or hiring local guides, we contribute to the economic well-being of the community. This support helps cultivate a thriving local culture and economy.
4. Being an ecotourist is vital in today’s world, as it encourages environmentally responsible travel practices. By selecting eco-friendly accommodations, engaging in sustainable activities, and being mindful of your environmental footprint, you help protect the natural beauty and biodiversity of the area im visiting.
5. Leaving your books with local inhabitants can serve as a remarkable exchange of knowledge. In return, we can bring back local books that provide insight into their culture, history, and stories. This kind gesture fosters connections and encourages a sharing of ideas.
6. Learning the local language through conversations with residents not only facilitates smoother communication but also builds rapport. Even attempting to speak the language, regardless of our proficiency, can demonstrate your willingness to engage with the culture and its people.
7. Volunteering with a charity that facilitates real sustainable changes can be an incredibly rewarding experience. Engaging in community service helps build relationships and positively impacts the local community, leaving a lasting contribution even beyond the visit.
8. Visiting as a guest in someone's home is an enriching experience that allows us to gain firsthand insight into the daily lives of the locals. This not only enhances cultural exchange but offers an authentic perspective on the customs and traditions that define their way of living.
9. Properly disposing of your waste is not only responsible but also demonstrates respect for the environment and the local community. Consideration for waste management can greatly contribute to preserving the natural surroundings and enhancing the quality of life for those who live there.
10. Lastly, making informed decisions while traveling is essential. This means conducting thorough research, being aware of potential impacts of our choices, and remaining open to learning from our experiences. Thoughtful decision-making ensures that your travels are enriching, respectful, and beneficial to both us and the communities you visit.
Dream Destination: Beijing, China
Motivation for Visiting
I wish to visit Beijing, China, because it is a city rich in history and culture, offering a unique blend of ancient traditions and modern advancements. The Great Wall, the Forbidden City, and the vibrant local cuisine are just a few of the reasons that make Beijing an exciting destination for me.
Historical and Cultural Significance
Beijing has a profound historical significance as it has been the political and cultural center of China for centuries. The city is home to numerous UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven. The flag of China is red with five yellow stars, symbolizing the unity of the Chinese people. The currency used in Beijing is the Renminbi (RMB), and a map of the city reveals its vast expanse, showcasing both historical landmarks and modern infrastructure, such as the Beijing Capital International Airport. The Chinese yuan renminbi is the china recent currency.
Transportation
To reach Beijing, I would book a flight with United Airlines, I would fly Economy Flight #3105. My flight would depart on Monday (10.21.24) at 3:05am. At 6:55am we have a layover in Seoul . The round trip would cost about 460$. for 2 days in china my trip would cost roughly about 920$ for the trip.
Accommodation and Facilities
I would like to stay at the Beijing Hilton Hotel due to its great amenities and central location. The room rate is around $150 per night, plus taxes. The hotel features spacious guest rooms, a fitness center, and a swimming pool. For dining, I would like to visit Quanjude, famous for its Peking duck, and Din Tai Fung, known for its dumplings. I am eager to try these restaurants because they represent authentic Chinese cuisine and are highly recommended by other travelers. I would rent a car for long distances. If not long distences I would walk.
Attractions and Events
During my visit, I plan to explore iconic attractions such as the Great Wall, Tiananmen Square, and the Summer Palace. Beijing also hosts various cultural events, including traditional Chinese opera and martial arts performances. I am particularly interested in attending a Peking opera show, as it is a unique aspect of Chinese culture. Additionally, I would love to participate in recreational activities such as tai chi in the parks, which would provide a deeper understanding of local traditions.
