Dr. Okim Kang

Okim Kang is Professor of Applied Linguistics and Director of the Applied Linguistics Speech Lab at Northern Arizona University (NAU), Flagstaff, AZ. Her research interests are speech production and perception, L2 pronunciation and intelligibility, L2 oral assessment and testing, automated scoring and speech recognition, World Englishes, and language attitudes. She has published and co-authored 5 books, 1 edited volume for conference proceedings, over 70 journal articles, 17 book chapters, over 70 invited and keynote speech presentations, and more than 130 conference presentations. She received the NAU President’s Award for 2021-2022 for instructional, scholarly, and service contributions to the field, and the Graduate Research Mentorship Award for Research and Creative Activity NAU 2020. She is a recipient of the TOEFL Outstanding Young Scholar Award (2013) by the Educational Testing Service, a Language Learning Scholar in Resident (2016), and also recognized as 500 women scientists in the U.S. (2018)

Dr. Seth Minkoff

Seth Minkoff holds a Ph.D. in Linguistics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His research interests include language acquisition, the semantics-syntax interface, Mayan languages, and language and epistemology. He has trained K12 language teachers in the US and Latin America; developed foreign language and ESL curricula; and created instructional software for Spanish learners. He currently teaches linguistics to Masters candidates in the departments of English and Education at Salem State University in Salem, Massachusetts, and teaches English as a Second Language in the Saugus Public Schools in Saugus, Massachusetts.

Dr. Bimali Indrarathne

Bimali Indrarathne is an Associate Professor in Applied Linguistics in the Department of Education, University of York, United Kingdom. Prior to that, she worked at King’s College London and Lancaster University, UK. Her main research interest is Second Language Acquisition, and she has worked on several projects investigating second language input processing, vocabulary acquisition and English for academic purposes. Bimali has conducted several research/teacher education projects relating to dyslexia and English language teaching mainly in the South Asian contexts and investigated English language teacher awareness on dyslexia type difficulties and their readiness to teach learners with dyslexia.

Dra. Verónica Villarroel

PhD. en Psicología y Magister en Psicología Educacional de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Psicóloga egresada de la Universidad de Concepción.

Actualmente es la Directora del Centro de Investigación y Mejoramiento de la Educación (CIME) de la Universidad del Desarrollo y docente de pregrado, postgrado y doctorado de la Facultad de Psicología en la UDD.

Sus líneas de investigación se relacionan con la psicología educacional, específicamente en la evaluación auténtica para el aprendizaje y las prácticas dialógicas docentes en el proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje.

Dr. Zachary Brooks

Zachary Brooks earned his PhD in Applied Linguistics with concentrations in cognitive science at the University of Arizona. Dr. Brooks’ bilingual decision-making research focuses on how decision making for native and second language speakers. Dr. Brooks also has significant experience with startup companies. Currently, he is the CEO for UGenome, a bioinformatics startup company, and previously, he worked as the Vice President for a company using lasers to detect for viruses.

Dra. Pauline Moore

Pauline Moore holds a Masters in Applied Linguistics and a PhD in Linguistics from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. She has worked as a teacher and teacher trainer in the Facultad de Lenguas of the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México for the last 30 years. Her areas of research interest are Academic Literacy, Corpus linguistics and Learner Autonomy in the area of English as a foreign language.

Dr. Eder Intriago Palacios

Éder A. Intriago-Palacios is a teaching assistant professor at Kansas State University. In 2014, he was awarded a scholarship to participate in the Go Teacher Master’s program at Kansas State University, where he later on earned a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction. His research interests revolve around Internationalization of Higher Education, English Medium-instruction, and English language teachers’ professional development.
