What I Learned
For this project we were to research any emerging technology of our choice. Once a technology was found and researched, we were to create a powerpoint presentation using the 6 x 6 structure.
What I Did
I chose sports technology. It was interesting researching this topic because I am not a huge sports fan, but I learned how new innovations in technology are helping shape how people purchase tickets, watch the games, and athlete training. This was one of my favorite projects of the semester.
Evidence/Summary
Emerging digital technologies are transforming the sports industry through AI analytics, VR/AR immersion, and blockchain systems. Glebova et. al. show that AI and advanced sensors now give athletes real-time performance feedback. Geissler et. al. explain that fans want more personalized and immersive media experiences, pushing sports organizations to innovate. Sports Data Campus highlights new digital tools like metaverse fan spaces and blockchain ticketing. These technologies offer better performance insights and richer engagement but also raises concerns about privacy, ethics, and rapid industry change. Overall, they're expected to become mainstream within the next decade and reshape how sports are played and experienced.
