What I Learned
In this unit we partnered with a classmate to research the global impact of the digital divide. I partnered with Micah who chose Singapore and I chose Brazil.
What I Did/What Micah Did
Bernard: Brazil
Researched Brazil's demographics, language, climate, and tech culture.
Highlighted Brazil's mobile-first digital habits and professional tech adoption.
Identified major digital divide issues. (rural broadband gaps, telehealth barriers, uneven digital literacy)
Analyzed how infrastructure weaknesses worsen cybersecurity impacts.
Showed contrasts between urban innovation and rural limitations.
Provided APA-formatted references from academic journals and national studies.
Micah: Singapore
Researched Singapore's demographics, climate, and multicultural population.
Examined Singapore's reputation as a highly network-ready, tech-forward nation.
Identified the digital divide as capability-based rather than access-based.
Highlighted senior's struggles with cashless systems, scams, and digital confidence.
Analyzed social isolation, tech anxiety, and the push for "Digital Ambassadors."
Provided APA-formatted references from government sources, research organizations, and digital-divide studies.
Evidence
We worked together smoothly, and the collaboration with Micah made the project feel balanced and easy to manage. Communication stayed clear the whole time, which helped us divide responsibilities without any confusion. Overall, the teamwork strengthened the final presentation and made the process genuinely enjoyable.
