Sustainability and Environmental Engineering Laboratory

A hands-on research and teaching space for field measurements, atmospheric monitoring, environmental analysis, and sensor development.

MISSION

SEEL seeks to understand the concentrations, sources, transformations, and impacts of environmental contaminants across multiple environmental compartments, with particular emphasis on the atmosphere, and to develop sustainable strategies for reduction and mitigation.

The laboratory uses the latest methods for field and bench measurements and ambient monitoring of environmental pollutants. The lab uses automated systems and data analysis techniques extensively. In addition to the research conducted in the lab, the SEEL lab provides a hands-on learning space for students taking several Environmental Engineering and Sustainability courses offered by the Department of Civil Engineering.
