Ward 2 is where my family began building its future. I’m running to deliver practical solutions, stronger accountability, and safer neighborhoods. My commitment is simple: Listen, Show up, and get Results.
My name is Eisham Abdulkarim, and I am running to be your next Ward 2 City Councillor.
Ward 2 is where my family’s story in Hamilton was built. My children were born here, and over the years I have had the privilege of working alongside residents from every background to help solve problems, connect people with the services they need, and strengthen our community.
My experience includes serving as a Constituency Assistant, Community Advocate, and former Vice Chair of Hamilton’s Immigrants and Refugees Advisory Committee. Through these roles, I have helped seniors access services, supported families facing difficult circumstances, assisted newcomers as they built new lives in Hamilton, and helped residents navigate government programs and community resources.
Working directly with residents has taught me that effective leadership is about listening first, showing up consistently, and bringing people together to find practical solutions. It is about being accessible, accountable, and focused on the everyday issues that matter most to the people who call Ward 2 home.
I am running because I believe Ward 2 deserves strong, community-focused leadership that is present, transparent, and committed to delivering results. If elected, I will work every day to build safer streets, stronger neighbourhoods, greater accountability at City Hall, and a more affordable future for everyone who lives, works, and invests in Ward 2.

Ward 2 is not an abstract policy file to me. It is where my family’s story in Hamilton was built. My children were born here, and I have spent years working, volunteering, and advocating alongside residents across our community.
During that time, I have listened to seniors concerned about safety, families struggling with the rising cost of living, business owners working hard to keep their doors open, newcomers building a new life, and young people wondering what opportunities the future holds. Those conversations have shaped my understanding of Ward 2 and strengthened my commitment to practical solutions.
As a Community Advocate, former Constituency Assistant, Settlement Worker, and former Vice Chair of Hamilton’s Immigrants and Refugees Advisory Committee, I have worked directly with residents from all walks of life, helping them navigate government services, access community resources, and overcome everyday challenges. That experience taught me that leadership begins with listening, showing up, and following through.
I am running because Ward 2 deserves a councillor who is accessible, accountable, and focused on results. Residents deserve to be informed, involved, and heard before major decisions are made not after.
Together, we can build a safer, more affordable, more transparent, and more prosperous Ward 2 where families can thrive, businesses can succeed, seniors feel supported, young people see opportunities, and every resident knows their voice matters.

Visions for the Future of Ward 2
I believe Ward 2 can once again be a community where families choose to build their future, seniors feel safe and supported, young people see opportunities close to home, and local businesses have the confidence to invest and grow.
I envision a downtown that is clean, welcoming, vibrant, and safe where residents and visitors feel comfortable walking our streets, shopping at local businesses, enjoying parks and public spaces, and using public transit with confidence.
I want Ward 2 to be a place where housing is more attainable, neighbourhoods are well maintained, and City Hall works in partnership with residents through openness, transparency, and meaningful community engagement.
I believe every resident deserves a councillor who listens, responds, and follows through on commitments. Trust in local government is built by being present, accessible, and accountable every day not only during an election campaign.
Together, we can build a Ward 2 that is safer, more affordable, more connected, and full of opportunity for current and future generations.
My Priorities for Ward 2
Safer Streets & Stronger Communities
Safety is the issue I hear about most from residents. People deserve to feel safe walking downtown, using transit, enjoying public spaces, and raising their families in our community.
My approach combines visible policing, stronger coordination between mental health professionals, outreach workers, housing providers, and community organizations, investment in youth, and support for seniors aging in place.
Affordable Living & Housing
Ward 2 is overwhelmingly made up of renters. Housing affordability remains one of the biggest challenges facing residents.
My focus is on increasing housing supply, reducing approval delays, protecting renters, maximizing available housing investments, and ensuring affordable housing remains part of our community.
Infrastructure, Cleanliness, and Downtown Revitalization
Residents should not have to wait years for sidewalk repairs, road improvements, or basic infrastructure maintenance.
I will advocate for better infrastructure planning, improved maintenance, downtown revitalization, support for local businesses, cleaner public spaces, and greater transparency regarding infrastructure priorities.
Cleaner, Prouder Neighborhoods
Residents deserve meaningful consultation before decisions are made.
I will work to strengthen neighbourhood engagement, improve transparency, establish community advisory committees, and ensure commitments are publicly tracked and reported.
