Making Ward 2 More Affordable
Affordability is one of the biggest challenges facing Ward 2. Families, seniors, renters, young adults, newcomers, students, small businesses, and residents on fixed incomes are all feeling the pressure of rising housing costs and the cost of living.
I will advocate for policies that protect existing affordable housing while supporting the construction of new homes. Ward 2 needs more housing options, but growth must be responsible, well-planned, and supported by the infrastructure, transit, parks, and services residents rely on.
I will also support strengthening City Housing Hamilton, reducing unnecessary planning delays, improving approval timelines, and making sure every housing dollar is tracked clearly and used effectively.
Affordability is not only about rent or home prices. It is also about transportation, taxes, infrastructure, local jobs, and whether people can continue to live in the neighbourhoods they call home.
Ward 2 deserves housing solutions that are practical, transparent, and focused on real results.
