Aging-In-Place/Universal Design

Designed by Janet Lucek, Yonkman Construction’s winning project was inspired by a family's commitment to helping a loved one maintain independence after a Parkinson’s diagnosis. 

To support changing mobility needs, the layout was reconfigured, and a curbless walk-in shower was added, along with wider clearances, reinforced grab-bar locations, and an accessible double vanity.

The result is a modern, welcoming bathroom that demonstrates how thoughtful design can empower homeowners and improve quality of life.
