The Senior High School (SHS) of F. Bangoy National High School was established in response to the nationwide implementation of the K–12 Basic Education Program, a major educational reform mandated by the Philippine government through the Department of Education (DepEd). This reform aimed to enhance the quality of basic education in the country by adding two years of specialized senior high school, designed to better prepare learners for higher education, employment, entrepreneurship, and skills development.
In School Year 2016–2017, F. Bangoy National High School officially opened its Senior High School department, offering Grades 11 and 12 to students from Barangay Sasa and neighboring communities. The introduction of Senior High School marked a significant milestone in the school’s growth, as it expanded its academic services beyond Junior High School and became a complete secondary education institution. This development allowed students to continue their education within their own community, reducing the need to transfer to other schools located farther away.
The establishment of the Senior High School also reflected the school’s commitment to supporting national educational goals by providing accessible, relevant, and quality education. Through the Senior High School program, F. Bangoy National High School began offering specialized learning tracks aligned with DepEd standards and community needs, equipping students with the necessary knowledge, skills, and values to become productive and responsible members of society. Since its opening, the Senior High School has continued to grow in enrollment, programs, and facilities, strengthening its role in preparing learners for college, employment, and lifelong learning.
