The Senior High School Department of F. Bangoy National High School, located in Sasa, Davao City, was established in response to the implementation of the K–12 Basic Education Program of the Department of Education (DepEd). The nationwide introduction of Senior High School in School Year 2016–2017 marked a significant milestone in Philippine education, aiming to better prepare learners for higher education, employment, entrepreneurship, and middle-level skills development.
In line with this reform, F. Bangoy National High School opened its Senior High School to provide accessible and quality education to students within the community and nearby areas. The establishment of the Senior High School expanded the institution’s role from offering only Junior High School to becoming a complete secondary education provider. Initial preparations included curriculum alignment, classroom adjustments, teacher training, and coordination with DepEd to meet the standards of the Senior High School program.
Since its opening, the Senior High School has continuously grown and developed by offering academic and technical-vocational programs designed to address the needs and interests of learners. Emphasis has been placed on practical learning, values formation, and career readiness. Programs such as work immersion, school events, and co-curricular activities have helped students gain real-world experience and essential life skills.
Today, F. Bangoy National High School – Senior High School remains committed to the DepEd mission of delivering quality, inclusive, and relevant education. It continues to nurture competent, disciplined, and responsible learners who are prepared to face the challenges of higher education, the workforce, and nation-building.
