The Edgewater high school MCJROTC unit recently underwent its formal Annual Inspection, a rigorous evaluation of the program’s discipline, knowledge, and administrative efficiency. This evaluation serves as a benchmark for the unit’s performance and adherence to Marine Corps standards.
The inspection began with a formal evaluation of close-order drill. Cadets demonstrated precision and synchronization in their movements, showcasing the results of their dedicated practice. The inspector assessed the unit on command presence, alignment, and the execution of complex drill sequences. Furthermore, individual cadets were quizzed on their military knowledge, including the chain of command, general orders, and current events, consistently providing sharp and accurate responses. Following the field evaluation, the Cadet Staff met with the inspector to provide an in-depth briefing on unit operations. Each staff member from the Commanding Officer to the S-1 through S-5 plus the commanding officers had presented a detailed overview of their specific roles and responsibilities.
The staff demonstrated how they manage personnel records, equipment manifests, and training schedules. They highlighted their commitment to keeping all unit data up to date, ensuring that the unit functions as a professional, organized entity. The inspector reviewed these processes to verify that every staff member is fulfilling their duties with accountability and in accordance with the latest Marine Corps Junior ROTC regulations.
Looking Ahead-
The feedback from the inspector was a testament to the hard work of both the cadets needed to improve and work upon in the future to help and improve our program to the highest it can be. The unit continues to uphold the high standards of the Marine Corps, proving that they are not only maintaining their responsibilities but exceeding expectations.
