About Edgewater High School's U.S. Marine Corps JROTC Program
The Marine Corps JROTC program was established in 1980 by Lieutenant Colonel James O. Cranford, a former artillery officer and Vietnam veteran. He served as Edgewater's Senior Marine Instructor for 24 years. This program instills the Marine Corps values of honor, courage, and commitment to high school students. MCJROTC prepares high school students to be responsible leaders and develop character while making them aware of the benefits and roles of citizenship. It is NOT a recruiting tool.

Wednesday, January 7th: Freshman Fly-in
When: 5 pm to 8 pm
What: Represent the program, Guiding from the parking to the auditorium
Uniform: MARPAT for detail, Blues for Colorguard, PT Gear for PT team
CIC: Turner Armani
Saturday, January 17th: Scottish Highland Games
Who: Any Cadets willing to volunteer (volunteer hours given)
What: Assist w/ game set up and running throughout the day. You will learn about and experience Scottish culture. Breakfast and lunch are provided.
When: NLT 0800-1800
Where: 1000 Central Winds Dr, Winter Springs, FL 32708
CIC: Cadet SgtMaj Dukes
Color Guard: 0730 arrival; 0830 start time
Uniform: OCPS approved attire but green or red top; no uniform
Wednesday, February 25th: ASVAB TEST
Who: All 10th, 11th, and 12th graders
When: NLT 0720
Where: Bldg 13
Friday and Sunday, March 6th and 8th: Arnold Palmer Invitational
Who: Hand-Selected Cadets
What: Guarding the trophies and representing EHS MCJROTC
When: NLT 0715 ~1700
Uniform: Dress Blue Deltas
No backpacks or other bags - Small clear bags only
Where: Hyatt Grand Cypress, 1 Grand Cypress Blvd, Orlando, FL 32836 - We will ride a bus over to the golf course
