The tool I like for Screen Capture is Loom. Loom can be its own program if you have a MackBook or PC but it can also be an extension for Google Chrome. This tool will record the desktop, the desktop with video of the user, or just video of the user to be edited if desired, or just be sent as a link in an email or various other ways. Having the ability to make videos with tools like this can really help students that were absent. Or even better for some students that may be homebound due to medical reasons or the like, they can get instruction from their teacher even though they are not able to be present in the classroom. I would say the ISTE standards I listed before are the same for the technology tool here just because they are really still similar products. Not only are the ISTE standards the same but Loom is also free, so they have the same price! From my experience, the best idea to help yourself make a nice streamlined video is to have a script ready and to make sure you are in a quiet (enough) place. I have used video making in the past to help students who were absent and I also would post them when I started. I would like to get back into it to make some videos for tutorial purposes because that is where some big growth can occur (Prestigiacomo, 2015).
