Video production is a basic skill demand in the digital age, either for work productivity or for entertainment purposes.
We will have couple video projects for this class as well. In order to develop your skill of telling a story via video, Flipagram is a good tool to start with.
Download the app to your phone, and learn how to use it. Choose pictures or video clips to create a story about you in the year 2017. Use hashtag#my2017 to join Flipagram's top challenges.
You can go outside of the classroom to take pictures or record your video. Your video should be more than 1 minute but less than 2 minutes.
Share your video link in the Google Sheet here so your classmates can watch them as well. Watch your video before you share it.
Having a digital portfolio is a requirement for this course. You will use this website to collect and present all of your project works and assignments. Your website will also be the place for me to grade your work.
The new Google Site is a relatively easy and user friendly tool to start. Your task is to create a Google Site and share the link in this Google Sheet.
Notice that Google Site has classic and new version, we're going to use the new version. Here is the link https://sites.google.com/new.
Watch the tutorial video. Trust me, spend a little time to learn it right now will save you A LOT OF TIME and reduce your stress level later. You can speed up the video to 1.25 or 1.5 times.
Now you have a new Google Site, give your site a smart name and choose the background pictures and banner pictures. Think about how to make your website looks professional regarding themes, color, font, pictures, etc.
Create a new page, name it as Introduction. Set it as the home page. Write couple paragraph to introduce yourself. Think about your career goals, where do you see yourself after graduation, and what courses/ internships/ part-time jobs that you’re planning to take, etc. A professional looking picture is recommended. Visuals are always helpful for people to know you better.
Still have the access to your Flipagram video? Embed that video on your introduction page as well.
Your Flipagram video and the introduction page worth 2% of your final grade.
