Escambia County Public Schools

New Teacher Resource Site

Welcome!

Congratulations on joining the Escambia County Public School's community of educators, and thank you for deciding to put your skills and know-how towards teaching our children. We are truly excited to have people with so much diverse experience working with our students to provide them with the best, well-rounded education they can get.

"In an effective classroom, students should not only know what they are doing, they should also know why and how."

Teacher Resources

Below are a list of resources you will need as you start your journey as a teacher. These will become second nature to you eventually, but for now take advantage of this easy-to-navigate list of websites, training modules, instructions, and guides to some of the more regular tasks and challenges you will encounter as you begin your career in the classroom and with the ECPS.

Regarding Single Sign-on:

Important to Know:

Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act

(FERPA)

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) (20 U.S.C. § 1232g; 34 CFR Part 99) is a Federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. The law applies to all schools that receive funds under an applicable program of the U.S. Department of Education. FERPA gives parents certain rights with respect to their children's education records. These rights transfer to the student when he or she reaches the age of 18 or attends a school beyond the high school level.

Your role as an instructor and employee of the Escambia County School District is to review this law and understand your responsibility. Links to the information site and other resources are linked below.
