TUESDAY ALGOPLUS 06/05/2019

On Thursday, each country explained their own idea of a sustainable housing. Where we learn different kinds of tourism because of the diferent places we decided to located it. We also share eco-friendly tips to improve our buildings and services creations.

Then we traveled to Roscoff in order to visit Algoplus. A company which collects and does treatments to seaweeds since 1993.

With the purpose of trying to be as much respectul with the environment, their products are hand-craft made and, everything they use can be obtained in Roscoff's coast or in their outdoors markets. Moreover every year they have to state how many kilograms, where and how they have taken it.

If you click down here, you can view our presentation (the first page has a video).

That was a really good experience that makes us learn a lot about seaweed and it’s use for soup, soap, food, hands-cream… Furthermore we could try it all!

Here you have a link to the algoplus' website.

Despite the raining, we did all the acitivity. We went on a Treasure Hunt on "Maison des dunes".

We had to find out a tresuare. First of all, we had diveded in groups to make it easier. Then, we started the search. The firts minutes it was find and we found some vidence. The firts chest we found, we tried serveral times the numbers that we had to put but it did not work. Unfurnately, we gave up because it was very difiult. However, some of us tried to do it again but id didt not work again so we went on a place where we were all together talking, taking photos and listening to music.

After, we went on the road on the dunes. There were beautiful! Although it was windy, we enjoyed the day and we had fun. When we arribed to the beach, we walked though it to arrive to the point that me met.

THURSDAY OCÉANOPOLIS/BREST 09/05/2019

On Thursday we visited a marine aquarium called Océanopolis and the "plateau des Capucins" (old workshops transformed) in Brest.

At first, we went to the aquarium, where a guide showed us the place. Since 1990, Océanopolis, tells the natural history of the ocean and fulfills a mission of scientific mediation with pedagogy and creativity. Océanopolis aims to be a place of knowledge exchange. Based on the most recent oceanographic knowledge, Océanopolis informs so that everyone can understand the operation of the ocean and form their own opinion on the impact of their actions. The guide taught us the different marine ecosystems of the planet and how to preserve them better. It was very interesting because we have the opportunity to go to their pavilions to make a world tour for the ocean through temperate, polar and tropical environments. We also had the chance to see a lot of animals and touch a few of them.

Here you can go to the Océanopolis' website:

Then we went to Brest, a big city near the sea, but far from Saint Pol de Léon. We didn't have much free time, so we just walked around the shops.

We enjoyed both visits and at same time we have a lot of fun.

FRIDAY 10/05/2019

CONFERENCE - CHATEAU DU TAUREAU - CONFERENCE- INDIAN SHOW - DINNER

On Friday we did a lot of different activities.

First of all, in the morning we had the first conference, which was about a legumes project in Saint Pol de Leon. Michèle François explained us some of the methods that they use for the cultivation of greens, for their commercial chain and also who participates actively in this project.

The most curious thing was how they harvest the artichoke, in their back they have a big bag, where they throw the artichoke.

And what I liked the most was their methodology. Why? That's because all their products are from km0, a way to reduce the CO2 emissions to the atmosphere. And it's also because they like to keep the traditions in order to make their products.

If you are very curious and you want to know more about this projects press here.

To disconnect a little bit, we visited the Chateau du Taureau, a castle in the middle of the sea. There they explained to us the history that the castle have behind it and what was their function when it worked.

Morlaix Bay, was pillaged and burnt very often by the English. And this was the reason why the local inhabitants decided to make a fort in the middle of the bay in order to safeguard the town.

In the 1721, the fort served as a private prison. That's because there the prisoners had some privileges, while their families were paying. But after this period it was also a sailing school few years.

Later they decided to restore the fort and in 2006 it was opened to the public.

After this interesting explication we could visit it.

And then we had to go back to the school. And there we had another conference. But this one was different, this was about the Armórica Natural Park. Which has the certificate "Regional Nature Park".

The man explained us their dimensions and also their history. He said that in the Bretagne there are an amount of natural parks and each one has many km2, but they also have an exceptional flora and fauna. But he remarked even more that they have 3 projects in progress, which are very interesting.

And here you can learn more about their projects.

After the last conference, we had time to finish the videos that each group made. The groups were the once that we did the first day, where there were people from each different country, France, Portugal, Germany, Slovenia, India and Spain. In order to show it to everyone and to explain our conclusions about this trip and also about our Ecotourism project.

And this is the video of one of the groups:

And after this busy morning we went home, but the day didn't finish yet. At 20h, we returned to the school, but this time was in order to see the Indian Show. Where we could see some of the most important sights of different cities and also some of their typical dancings.

And to conclude the act, they did a very funny performance relating technology to older people.

The last thing that we did all together was the dinner, where each family, either from the Erasmus or from the Indian's exchange, had to bring something to eat.

Sadly, that was the day we had to say goodbye to everyone and where everyone hope to see them again soon,

So you can imagine that most of us were crying and very sad.
