Schedule an interview!
Students new to the band program should contact Mr. Escobedo ("Mr. E") at cuescobedo@seattleschools.org so he can schedule an interview and help get your child placed into the right band.
Join the summer music program!
If your incoming 6th grader is planning to join band at Eckstein, there is a summer music program run by Mr. Escobedo to allow students from the various elementary schools to meet each other and play together.
2023 dates: July 5 - July 21st, 9 am-12 pm (*no class on July 4th) *Concert on July 20th 7:00pm!

Play after-school, too!
Additionally, 6th graders interested in playing jazz at Eckstein are invited to be part of an after-school jazz program that meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays, since during the day they'll most likely be taking a band class, not jazz (since those classes are for primarily 7th and 8th graders who've had exposure to Jazz music).
