Cuauhtemoc ("Moc") Escobedo, aka. Mr. E is the Director of Bands at Eckstein Middle School, conducting their concert bands, jazz bands, drumline, vocal jazz, and annual musicals. πΌ π΅ πΆ
Mr. E plays all the instruments he teaches, however his main instrument is trombone.
In addition to teaching at Eckstein, he has played trombone with Harmonia since 1989 and is the principal trombonist of Orchestra Seattle. Further, he has performed with the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra, Seattle Philharmonic, Bellevue Philharmonic, Philharmonia Northwest, and Rainier Chamber Winds.
Mr. E received his Bachelor of Arts in Music Education and his Master of Music in Trombone Performance from Texas Tech University. He has studied trombone under UW's Stuart Dempster, David Ritt (Seattle Symphony Orchestra), and Robert Deahl (TTU).
Mr. E's wife attended Eckstein and Garfield, and his father-in-law taught at Eckstein in the early 1960βs. Both of Mr. E's own children attended Wedgwood, Eckstein and Roosevelt.

Moc has received the Golden Apple Teaching Award, the Golden Ear Seattle Earshot Jazz Award, the City of Seattle Champion of the Arts Award, and was named one of Seattle Magazine's Most Influential People of 2007.
