CONCERT BAND

Here’s a look at an average year-in-the-life for a Concert Band (aka Wind Ensemble) student at Eckstein Middle School.

Please Note: Students will need to increase their level of practicing and playing time, and commit to events while performing music at the highest level. Not only will they play at performances and travel to festivals, there will also be associated costs. Families will be asked to support their student’s activities through positive reinforcement, volunteering, fundraising and pay for travel, food and overnight costs.

As a member of the Concert Band at Eckstein, students may miss school work and tests to attend performances, they will need to make these up and keep their school work current and in good standing. Your child will also be a role model to other students in the program and must possess exemplary behavior.

There may be opportunities for your child to play in additional Chamber Groups such as Flute Ensemble, French Horn Ensemble, Bassoon Ensemble, Oboe Ensemble and Trombone Ensemble.

All band families and parents are highly encouraged to participate in bake sales, fundraising and volunteering to help make the year a success for their students. Throughout the year, parents may be asked to carpool to local events that come up.
