Renting is a great option for the school year, for summer practice (or music camps) and provides an affordable solution for care and maintenance.

A note on Privately Owned Instruments
A note on Privately Owned Instruments
While it is recognized that students need to bring privately owned musical instruments to school to participate in music class, it is not the policy for the Seattle Public Schools to assume responsibility for these instruments.
Please be advised that:
1) The Seattle Public Schools will provide as much security for all instruments as is possible with present storage facilities.
2) Parents should investigate the possibility of adding privately owned musical instruments on their homeowner’s or renter’s insurance policies, or consider insuring instruments with one of several companies that insure for musical instruments.
3) Students should be instructed to be extremely careful about where their instrument is left while at school. Whenever possible, instruments should be stored in the storage room designated by the music teacher. Student cases should be plainly marked with the student’s name and school.
