Principal Investigator
I grew up in Changhua, Taiwan, and earned both my Bachelor of Science in Life Science (2009) and my Master's in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (2011) from National Taiwan University, where I was mentored by Chau-Ti Ting. Following my compulsory military service, I continued my training for two years as a research technician in the labs of Chau-Ti Ting and Hwei-yu Chang.
In 2014, I moved to the United States to pursue my PhD in Biology at the University of Rochester under the guidance of Amanda Larracuente. During my doctoral studies, my research was recognized with several honors, including the University of Rochester's Ernst Caspari and Messersmith Fellowships, a Government Scholarship to Study Abroad from the Ministry of Education in Taiwan, and was awarded the Larry Sandler Award from the Genetics Society of America (2020).
I joined Harmit Malik’s lab at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in 2020 and was awarded the prestigious Damon Runyon Postdoctoral Fellowship to support my postdoctoral research. After completing my fellowship, I returned to Taiwan in 2025 to launch my independent research group at the Institute of Molecular Biology, Academia Sinica.
Outside the lab, I enjoy browsing the web, hunting for coupons, watching YouTube videos, petting other people’s dogs and cats, and constantly trying (and often failing) to exercise more.
