Ecclesiastes 12:13-14
Fear God and keep His Commandments
13 Now all has been heard;
here is the conclusion of the matter:
Fear God and keep his commandments,
for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God will bring every deed into judgment,
including every hidden thing,
whether it is good or evil.
In the conclusion of Solomon's Ecclesiastes, he tells us to fear God and keep His commandments...Solomon realizes that man's knowledge is limited and that God is in control...Our understanding of why we are on earth is not clear, especially without an understanding of God...For God will bring all of our deeds into judgment, and our whole life will be viewed at the end of ages...He is our Perfect Judge...
Solomon, like Job, wanted comprehensive answers to many, many questions, tough questions we ask about life...Solomon, like Job finds that as wise as he is he still has limited knowledge...Solomon questions life and why we are here...Only God has Infinite and Eternal Knowledge...God has Complete Understanding...Even with Solomon's wisdom his human understanding is limited, as he tells us throughout Ecclesiastes...It seems in his explanation that our physical reality on earth needs something nonphysical to explain our physical reality and why we are here...And therefore, we should fear God, knowing that He does have all answers...
We have good and we have evil...God who created us could have given us only good...But then if only good were on earth, what would that be like...God could have permitted no suffering, but then feeling good would become just a neutral way of feeling...More robotic than what we feel, if we only have the forever feeling of feeling great each day...One would always feel the same...And God could have allowed no death's on earth....God will give us a final perfect judgment on all things good and all things evil...
God who created all things, has the power to resurrect...Like He did with His Son, our Savior Jesus...The LORD's knowledge is eternal, He is Almighty...God who allows death, can resurrect us to eternal life in heaven...We can have death, but we also can have life after death with God...
