The history of the world and its creation varies from region to region. However, they all share one similarity - that Four Great Dragons who have existed before everything created the world, the mountains, the seas, the skies, the elements, and the people. These dragons live among the people - 2 of which slumber in their mountains, and 2 live in the castle of the monarchy of the 2 great nations.
People have erected churches all over the world. They come to this church and pray, believing their prayers is passed through the land and reaches the great dragons. Other lands have smaller gods with the belief the great dragons created them to keep order in their land. The four villages around Evermere is one example - wherein each village has their own god that keeps the season still and the land blessed.
Since the creation of the world, the people built civilizations and nations. The three great continents - Verdanys, Thalvoria and Lianzhou was established soon after.
The Empire of Thalvoria sought to claim the world as their own. To achieve this, they launched a campaign of conquest, razing the land and subjugating its people. Leveraging the power of Alchemy, they easily seized control. The nations that resisted formed the Allied Powers - an alliance between the nations of Verdanys and Lianzhou continent. For 15 long years, the war raged, consuming lands and lives, claiming both the guilty and innocent, and fundamentally altering the world.
The entire known world was affected by the war, as Thalvoria ravaged the land with the power of their inventions and alchemy. The Verdanys Continent suffered the most, being the largest landmass, while Lianzhou held the advantage of the sea. Yet neither land nor ocean could halt Thalvoria’s advance. Wherever they went, they conquered.
As the war spread, travel and commerce came to a standstill. Trade routes became dangerous, businesses closed, and farms and settlements were destroyed or abandoned. Supplies grew scarce, prices rose, and lands once bustling with life were reduced to battlefields and ruins.
Thalvoria’s tactics were merciless, often using the sheer brutality of their power to intimidate their enemies. They would launch devastating attacks not only to defeat their opponents, but to demonstrate the extent of their power.
The Allied Powers’ mission to stop Verdanys forced them to conquer villages surrounding the empire, either to cut off its sources of supplies or to block important routes. Thalvoria, however, did not take kindly to these advances, and their retaliation often left these villages in ruins.
Despite this, there were places that remained largely untouched—small villages hidden away in the remote corners of the continents.
Until one day…
The war ended. The empire was defeated and lost.
The exact moment of defeat had many versions. Some claim the empire synthesized a dragon which ultimately led to their downfall. Others say the emperor turned to gold due to the abuse of Alchemy.
However, one truth remained: the empire had lost its ruler and its power.
After the war, the Allied Powers swiftly acted to end the conflict, unite the nations, and rebuild from the devastation. They established new rules, safeguards, and laws, particularly regulating the use of magic and prohibiting the practice of Alchemy. To oversee and regulate magical activity, the alliance founded the United Alliance Magic Guild (UAMG). Though alchemy was outlawed, a select few individuals were still permitted to practice it for the betterment of the nations—under the UAMG's strict surveillance.
The continent of Thalvoria was left in ruins. Businesses withdrew from the nation, and many citizens, left without livelihoods, migrated elsewhere. Soldiers, generals, and alchemists of the empire were captured and put on trial, with many facing punishment. Only a small number of survivors remained in Thalvoria, attempting to rebuild their lives under the watchful eye of the Allied Powers.
Meanwhile, the victors of the war were not left unscathed. Their lands had been ravaged, resources depleted, and livelihoods destroyed. Yet slowly, with the support of the Allied Powers, they began to rebuild once more.
Evermere was once a great city that held the famous Grand Bazaar - a weekly occassion that brings together the products of the four neighboring villages that are stuck in their seasons. The Grand Bazaar is known to bring together the four seasons and the people of all nations in one bazaar.
However, since the war, business was dying. Despite being neutral from the war, they suffered great damage from losing connection to other nations and loss of imports, exports and tourists. People have also moved out of Evermere to look for jobs or join the war. Not too soon, Evermere Grand Bazaar closed down. The city also lost its loyalty and connection with the four neighboring villages.
The Duke of Evermere has a plan - to revive the Evermere Grand Bazaar and unite Evermere and the four villages together. He sent out recruitment and advertising posters to invite people to migrate into Evermere and merchants to open up shop in the area for the Evermere Grand Bazaar.
