This paper illustrates one of the most important evaluative experiences that I have encountered in my doctoral career in Seminar in Educational Management as it indicates the depth of understanding I have reached regarding significant educational principles, as well as, my willingness to explore issues of urgency and struggle that accompany these principles, both in respect of my own academic reasoning and ideas about leadership. The positions I take on four issues—Philippine History in the curriculum, the implications of bare classroom walls for learning, Mother Tongue in basic education, and K-12 versus K-10—demonstrates my position regarding the efforts to address the theories of educational management in the context of real, present-day dilemmas. Every position I have taken is not only a critique of each circumstance but an indication of my continued commitment to inclusive, effective, culturally relevant education for the Philippines.
