Mario Visconte is a PhD student in Civil and Industrial Engineering at the University of Calabria, focusing on developing and integrating deep learning algorithms within models to virtualize physical systems in the context of Structural Health Monitoring. His doctoral project is co-funded by Siemens Industry Software NV and is supervised by Prof. Domenico Mundo, with co-supervision by Prof. Francesco Cosco and Dr. Emilio Di Lorenzo (Siemens Industry Software NV).
He holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (with honors) from the same institution, where he worked on the development and characterization of innovative materials, vehicles and robotics, optimization, and CFD projects.
At present, he is a visiting research student with the Data, Vibration and Uncertainty (DVU) Group at the University of Cambridge, carrying out research on physics-informed neural networks for damage detection under the supervision of Prof. Alice Cicirello.
