In Bloom
Introducing “Bloom” - an LGBT and religion discussion app. Designed to enable users to share stories to reduce the stigma of expected hate. At its heart is Bloom’s reflection function. Before commenting, users must first wait for their thoughts to ‘bloom’. This helps to reduce initial prejudicial thoughts and increase understanding.
Designed for the RSA 2021 Competition.
To fully realise the needs for In Bloom background research into social media usage, design and market research was much needed. This was completed to present my case for the application's need but also provided a visual insight board I could reference to throughout the design process.
This was completed through a combination of digital interviews with social media users, a social media hashtag tracking application (to showcase a gap in the market) and reading into systems thinking in applications.
