Designing Digital Futures: Health

The physical health insurance packaging and product created to backup the storyboard and reality of the company created for this brief.

Included is a company booklet and 2 sticky-back trackers placed on frosted plastic. The box was made to have a sleek and impressive design to make the user feel important and ensure they feel the product is luxurious/high quality - an essential for any business in the tech industry. Furthermore, to add to the universe of this product, I created a gossip magazine. this included 2 articles and adverts for both my own product and others.

With the task of looking 15 years into the future of sustainability on the planet, the decision was made to focus on the ever-present health crisis especially with the lockdown being in effect at the time.

I wanted to build up a world for the technology which was a health insurance tracker. Paired with a mobile app, these stickers would allow users to figure out where they were going wrong and how to be healthier (which would reduce their payments). These stickers allows access to hospital for healthy/trying to be healthier users as an incentive which I focused on with this storyboard.

With prior research I decided to tell the story from two different perspectives. The rich who could afford to spend more time focused on their health and have greater access to fresh food, gyms, personal trainers and the poor, where smoking is 9% more likely, less food is fresh and air quality is much lower. This overall sets up the system against the poor which is a reflection of politics in today’s society.
