Exhibit 7

Panorama

Background:

  • The purpose of this exhibit was to display the uses of Photoshop in combining multiple photos to create a panorama.

  • Revision: Based on the critiques I received, I decided to crop the image so that the ground was not so dark and off-balance.

Photoshop skills used:

  • Photomerge was used to enable multiple screenshots of a video to become a panorama

  • Flattening the image was necessary to bring it all together

  • Autofill was used to create a seamless panorama

  • Brightness/Contrast Adjustment Layer was added to enhance the photo

  • Vibrance Adjustment Layer was also used

  • Hue/Saturation Adjustment Layer was also used

  • Patch Tool was used to erase any unwanted spots in the grass

Design:

  • Contrast: I darkened the land and the horizon line in order to bring more emphasis to the colors in the sky. I also created more depth in the sky by adding contrast in the clouds.

  • Alignment: I aligned the horizon line with the edges of the composition.

  • Color Choice: I intensified the colors of the sunset in order to draw attention to the sky. I also wanted to increase the tension between the natural warm and cool colors. I darkened the colors of the earth a bit, but kept the warmth and saturation in order to warm up the photo. I also adjusted the hue's of the sky to make the colors bolder.
