I welcome all the M.Sc. first year students to this course. Your first class of the course will be on 8 January 2026 on campus at lecture hall P-0-5 in Physics Department. There will be three lectures per week in the following times (as per the time table)
Monday: 11 am - 12 pm, Thursday: 10 am - 11 am , Friday: 10 am - 11 am
Attendance will be taken via paperless mode using software

General Reference Books will be:
Modern Quantum Mechanics by J J Sakurai and Jim Napolitano: It is a good and a detailed book on quantum mechanics.
Quantum Mechanics by Eugen Merzbacher: It is a well written and one of the most popular books on quantum mechanics.
Introductory Quantum Mechanics by Richard Liboff: A very well written book for both beginner and advanced readers. Worth reading.
The Feynman Lectures on Physics (Volume-3) by Richard P Feynman: A classic book on basic quantum mechanics, not mathematically detailed but it has lots of interesting ideas that sharpen the mind.
A Textbook of Quantum Mechanics by P M Mathews and Venkatesan: A very old and a good Indian book written on quantum mechanics.
