Edible Coating Materials (ECM)

In the proposed work, the aim is to design and develop an electrostatic coating system along with synthesis of edible and biodegradable coating materials appropriate for electrostatic spraying. In electrostatic coating, the properties of coating material such as electrical, mechanical, chemical and physical plays an important role in edible coating. The coating material to be applied over the food commodity must be edible in nature such as Aloe Vera, natural leaf extracts, shellac, antimicrobials, antioxidants, polysaccharides and protein based coating materials.

Autonomous System for Agricultural Tasks (ASAT)

An intelligent sprayer system has been designed and developed for targeted pesticide delivery and pest control. The autonomous spraying system is a combination of real time navigation, detection of the target, canopy mapping and air induced electrostatic spraying which delivers controlled pesticide dose in targeted manners according to the information gathered from the sensory attributes through online and real time monitoring of the targets. The complex algorithm, data acquisition and storage, calculation and processing, real time monitoring and navigation control are designed with motors and sensors interfaced with microcontrollers.
