Dr. Manoj K. Patel

Dr. Patel has started his research career in charged particulate technology, electro-hydrodynamics of liquid sprays and aerodynamics of charged particulate matter. His current research interests are electrostatic liquid atomization, dust mitigation and air-pollution abatement, electrostatic spraying for surface decontamination, food safety and nutrition, artificial intelligence, aerial spraying and UAVs.

Dr. Patel has three patents, one design registration and several research articles in refereed journals and conferences. He has transferred various technology know-how to numerous industries for commercial production and created three (03) startups. Dr. Patel has received several awards including prestigious BRICS Young Scientist Award 2022, CSIR Young Scientist Award 2020, IEI Young Engineers Award 2019, NRDC National Societal Innovation Award 2017 and Gandhian Young Technological Innovation (GYTI) Award 2016. He is a recipient of Post Graduate Research Program for Engineers (PGRPE) Fellowship, from CSIR (2010-2012) and TATA Cummins Meritorious Scholarship from TATA CUMMINS (2009-2010).

Dr. Patel is a Fellow of Indian Social Science Academy (ISSA) and The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE). He is a member of various professional societies such as National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI), Vigyan Bharati (VIBHA), Institution of Engineers, India (IEI), Indian Society of Agricultural Engineers (ISAE) etc. At a very young age, he has shown his leadership capabilities and served as a member of advisory board of World Space Council and Biostandups. He is serving a member, International Advisory Board (IAB), Polytechnic of Leiria, Portugal and as an External Member, Board of Studies (BoS), National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jamshedpur.

Dr. Manoj K. Nayak

Received his M.Sc in Chemistry (Specializations in Organic and Biochemistry) from Sambalpur University, Jyoti Vihar, Odisha, India in 1998 and a PhD in Physical Organic Chemistry from Indian Institute of Kanpur (IITK), India in 2004. Dr. Nayak has vast experience in the field of material chemistry and biotechnology. He has eight years of international postdoctoral research experience at the National University of Seoul, South Korea, the University of Victoria, Canada, Texas A&M University, Qatar, and McGill University, Canada. 

During his postdoctoral research, he worked on Sol-gel chemistry, thin-film formation and characterization, luminescent probes and Turn-on/Turn-off fluorescent sensors, novel metathesis block polymers for bio-detection and control release applications, and the heterostructure nano-catalysts to improve the visible-light-driven photodegradation performance of organic pollutants and photocatalytic reaction kinetics. Currently, he is working on magnetic-graphene-based ion exchange resins that can be regenerated again and again through recycling. It also reduces cost because it removes the need for large resin stocks. At the outset, he is also working on molecularly imprinted polymers (MIP) as molecular recognition materials able to mimic natural recognition entities, such as antibodies and chemical/biological receptors. 

He has published more than 38 peer-reviewed journals, 4 book chapters, and one patent to his credit. He has executed three projects of national importance. He has produced 3 PhDs and 22 M.Tech/M.Sc/B.Tech dissertation/internship and currently 6 PhDs are under active supervision. 

Dr. Sandeep Sahu

Dr. Sandeep Sahu is currently working as a Scientist at CSIR-CSIO, Chandigarh, and an Assistant Professor at AcSIR at CSIR-CSIO, Chandigarh, positions he's held since April 2023. Before this, he held the position of Royal Society Newton International Fellow at the University of Southampton, UK, sponsored by the Royal Society, London, from April 2021 to April 2023.

Dr. Sahu's academic journey features a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from IIT Kanpur, an M.Tech. in Industrial Metallurgy from IIT Roorkee, and a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from MDU, Rohtak. During his Ph.D., he also contributed to three important projects, alongside his thesis. He honed his research skills through a research associateship at IIT Kanpur and DMSRDE-DRDO, Kanpur, with a year of industrial work experience post his B.E. degree.

Dr. Sahu's research interests encompass Multi-Material Additive Manufacturing, Severe Plastic Deformation Techniques, and Grain Boundary Engineering. He is also interested in the application of Artificial Intelligence for the detection and analysis of surface defects in manufacturing industries.

Dr. Sahu is currently supervising 1 Ph.D. student and has previously supervised 2 MSc and 2 UG students during his tenure at the University of Southampton, UK. His scholarly contributions comprise over 33 peer-reviewed journal papers, 2 book chapters, presentations at 30 international and national conferences, and 4 invited talks. He holds a life membership in esteemed organizations such as the Indian Institute of Metals (IIM), Electron Microscope Society of India (EMSI), Materials Research Society of India (MRSI), Indian Thermal Analysis Society (ITAS), Indian Carbon Society (ICS), and Society for Failure Analysis (SFA). Furthermore, he has conducted reviews for 147 journal papers.

Mr. Ajay Yadav

Mr. Ajay Yadav has received his B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering from Punjab Technical University and completed his M.Tech specialization in Mechanical Design from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. He carried out MTech thesis work at KTH, Sweden which was funded by EU. He is currently working as Principal Scientist in Manufacturing Science and Instrumentation (MSI) division at CSIR-Central Scientific Instruments Organisation, Chandigarh. Mr. Yadav has started his research career in Design, analysis and development of Agriculture and Industrial machinery. His current research interests are Mechanical design and analysis, CAD/CAM/CAE, additive manufacturing, stealth technologies, electrostatic spraying technology, airborne charged particulate technology for and air-pollution abatement, precision agriculture, autonomous robotic systems for agricultural tasks.

Mr. Yadav has three (03) filed patents, one (01) design copyright, one (01) design registration and one (01) research article. He is a project leader and member of various national and international projects funded by DST, CSIR, Govt. of Indi, Indian Airforce, Defence, Punjab Government, and industries. He has transferred eight (02) technology know-how to various industries for commercial production. He has significantly contributed in the development of following technologies: Tractor mounted mechanical cotton picker, Hydraulically operated Tractor mounted Mob Control Vehicle, Tractor front side mounted and hydraulically operated Mentha Reaper, Electronically augmented CRPF-BRB vehicle, Cotton picking Head, Offset rotavator for orchards.

Ms. Priyanka Raghav

Ms. Priyanka Raghav is a Senior Scientist in Business Development Group Division of Central Scientific Instruments Organization (CSIR-CSIO), Chandigarh where she has been working since March 2018. Her current role focuses on technology adoption, promotion, commercial negotiations, knowledge transfers, and project planning. She is involved in several initiatives like assessing the societal and economic impact of technologies, linking of academic institutions and industries with national laboratories. She actively collaborates between scientists and industry in order to commercialize the technologies developed at CSIR-CSIO. 

Previously, she has had diverse experience in areas such as international knowledge transfers, financial analysis and reporting, planning and budgeting, forecasting, revenue analysis, activity based costing and client management at JP Morgan, Mumbai and WNS, Gurgaon. Ms. Raghav earned her Masters in Business Administration (MBA) in Finance from IBS Hyderabad and a B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering from U.P. Technical University, Lucknow. She has also completed her CFA Level II from CFA Institute USA.

Mr. Anup Chander

Mr. Anup Chander has received his B.Tech degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Master in Design (Product Design and Engineering). He is currently working as Scientist in Manufacturing Science and Instrumentation (MSI) division at CSIR-Central Scientific Instruments Organisation, Chandigarh. His current research interests are Product Design, Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Mechatronics.

Mr. Anup is is working as a scienitist in the fields of robotics and product design. He finds endless inspiration in the convergence of creativity and technology. He have been working on projects related to affordable prosthetics, medical devices and drone-based harvesting systems, where all of these projects were backed with robust engineering techniques.  Through hands-on experimentation and theoretical exploration, he has been pushing boundaries leading to innovative products and concepts. 

He is always excited and looking forward to potential collaborations, which can help leverage the collective intelligence to tackle challenges in this field efficiency.

Mr. Anil Jangra

Mr. Anil Jangra has received his diploma in mechanical engineering from Government Polytechnic, Sonepat in 2007. He has also received advanced diploma in CAD engineering from Center for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC), Mohali.

Mr. Jangra has 7 years of experience in CNC machining center assemblies. He has worked in various technological development activities such as electrostatic sprayer, dust mitigation device and hand-held electrostatic disinfection device. He is currently working on various projects in the field of disinfection and sanitization, agri-instrumentation and air purification.

Mr. Raj Kumar

Mr. Raj Kumar has received his diploma in mechanical engineering from Ramagarhia Polytechnic College, Phagwara in 2009. He has also received Bachelor of technology (B.Tech.) in mechanical engineering  from Ambala College of Engineering and Applied Research in 2012.

He is working as technical assistant in Interdisciplinary and applied research lab which is a part of manufacturing Science and Instrumentation division at CSIR-Central Scientific Instruments Organisation, Chandigarh.

Mr. Akkireddi Siva Rama Krishna

Mr. Akkireddi Siva Rama Krishna has received his diploma in electrical and electronics engineering from Government Polytechnic Vishakhapatnam in 2019. Currently, he is working as technician in electrical engineering services division at CSIR-Central Scientific Instruments Organisation, Chandigarh.

Mr. Krishna has started his research career in electrostatic spraying, high voltage power supply for the charging of liquid sprays. He is also looking major electronic and electrical activities at the IAR group.
