current research activities
Food safety and nutrition
It is a mission mode project which aims to provide food and consumer safety solutions primarily to increase the shelf-life and nutritional value.
disinfection and sanitization
Electrostatically charged sprays are more effective and efficient to sanitize and disinfect the public places against the spread of COVID-19.
Environmental pollution abatement and smog control
Electrostatic spraying based dust mitigation and environment protection device which suppresses the dust particles very efficiently since charged droplets of opposite polarity combine with charged foreign particles present in the environment and settle down on the ground very efficiently and effectively.
Aerial Electrostatic Spraying
It’s a multifunctional device which can be used for aerial spraying. Initially, we are working on aerial electrostatic spraying of pesticides which will have an extended applications on locust swarm control and environment pollution abatement.
Energy harvesting
Very recent initiatives have been taken in the field of energy harvesting i.e. nanogenerators, fire retardant materials, hydrogen generation majorly in product development.
Air purification
Working on electrostatic precipitation technology for the pollution abatement. The work focuses on the research and development of electrostatic precipitation technology for localized emission control.
Automation and mechanization in agriculture
Working on autonomous robotic systems for agricultural tasks such as targeted and controlled delivery of pesticides for greenhouse spraying, canopy mapping and health monitoring.
Electrostatic spraying technology
An air-assisted electrostatic spraying technology for agricultural pesticides spraying to reduce the off-target losses, pesticides consumption, environment pollution, side effects and human health hazardous and to increase the mass transfer, uniformity, deposition efficiency and bio-efficacy.
