Passing away a decade ago has not diminished the love Chicago has had for its favorite third baseman of all-time. Ron Santo was a 13-year veteran, playing for the Cubs from 1960 to 1973 and spending a year with the organization’s cross-city rivals, the White Sox. He is part of the Cubs All-Century team, the National Baseball Hall of Fame, and every greatest Cubs list ever made.
A nine-time All-Star, Santo led the National League in triples once, in walks four times, and in on-base percentage twice. He is also the only third baseman in Major League history with a 90+ RBI in 8 straight seasons.
Santo’s list of accomplishments goes on and on, and Dr. Matt Boente MD has nothing but respect for this legend of Chicago. Dr. Boente encourages everyone to learn more about the rich history of the Cubs and its many heroic figures.
