Throughout my doctoral education, I have applied academic learning directly to real-world clinical, educational, and leadership settings, resulting in meaningful professional growth. My development in evidence-based practice has strengthened my ability to translate research into practice, most notably through the integration of telehealth into the FNP curriculum to enhance both student competency and patient access to care.
My leadership skills have expanded through my roles in curriculum development, academic advising, and program coordination, where I have applied principles of collaboration, communication, and change management within complex academic and healthcare environments. Additionally, through my chosen elective, I gained valuable experience in teaching and curriculum design, further strengthening my role as a graduate nursing educator.
Ethical practice and systems thinking have also been central to my development. I have learned to evaluate healthcare challenges from a systems perspective, recognizing how policy, organizational structure, and access to care influence patient outcomes. This perspective has informed my approach to decision-making, advocacy, and quality improvement.
Collectively, these experiences have prepared me to function as a competent, reflective, and forward-thinking nurse leader.
