Dr. Breanna Boppre

I am a part-time lecturer in the Department of Victim Studies at Sam Houston State University. My full-time job is Senior Research Associate for the Urban Institute, a nonprofit research think tank based out of Washington DC. I conduct research and technical assistance focused on victimization and incarceration in the Justice Policy Center. 


I earned my Ph.D. in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2018. I also earned my M.S. in Criminal Justice from Portland State University and her B.A.(hon) in Criminal Justice from the University of Nevada, Reno. 


My research and teaching focus on victimization and system-involvement through a gendered lens. I also study the impacts of victimization and system-involvement on families.



In my free time, I enjoy hiking, snowboarding, yoga, video games, and art. I love spending time with my family: spouse, dogs, and son Ayden.
