Discussions

Ok, ok... I know some of us may be tired of discussion boards... BUT I promise the way I use the discussion board is probably different from what you are used to (and, students say, more fun!).

The purpose of the discussions is to interact with classmates and me. It can help to see others' views on the content related to the class.

What you need to do:

Respond to the prompts on Blackboard

For most (if not all) modules, you'll have a discussion board prompt. The prompts will ask you to do a variety of things, such as relating the course material to pop culture or other external media, or simply reflecting on a specific item or topic. I will also ask you to create and share public service announcements. This helps build awareness about social issues and give you practice using Canva to create infographics. Some discussions will simply ask you to introduce yourself or say goodbye!

As long as you post something related to the prompt, you will earn full credit.

There are no minimum word requirements!

You do not need to respond to your classmates, but I do encourage you to look through their posts and comment if you want to!

TIP: You can add images/gifs directly into your post!

What I do is go to giphy.com, search for a gif, right click "copy image", then paste into the post!

Or, you can click the + icon and upload images/gifs.

Code of Conduct

Treat everyone with respect. Engage with patience and empathy.

I strongly encourage you to interact with each other! You can react and comment on one anothers' posts! This is not required, but it helps build our classroom community if you do interact.

**If you ever have an issue with another student, PLEASE let me know via email!
