On June 29, 2022, the President approved and signed R.A. No. 11889. Section 5 of the Act provides for its immediate implementation through the DOH’s programs and appropriations. The implementing rules and regulations shall also be in accordance with R.A. No. 11223, Universal Health Care (UHC) Act, which ensures that all Filipinos have equitable access to quality health care goods and services.
