On June 29, 2022, the President approved and signed R.A. No. 11883. The medical complex shall be under the Department of Health (DOH), and shall comprise two hospitals, one in Tagbilaran City and another in Cortes, Bohol. Section 5 of R.A. No. 11883 provides for its implementation through the DOH’s programs and appropriations. The implementing rules and regulations of the Act shall be in accordance with R.A. No. 11223, Universal Health Care (UHC) Act, which ensures that all Filipinos have equitable access to quality health care goods and services.
