FULL TITLE OF THE GPPA: Workshop Training on International Air Transport Association (IATA) Packaging, Handling, and Transport of Specimens for Luzon

DESCRIPTION: Department of Health (DOH), through the Health Facility Development Bureau - Office for Health Laboratories (OHL) and in coordination with the Global Fund through the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) is organizing an IATA Training-Workshop on Packaging, Handling, and Transport of Specimens. The training aims to build and strengthen the capacity of DOH regional health offices and DOH hospitals to properly classify, package, label, document, and transport infectious substances in compliance with IATA requirements and international biosafety standards. This activity will help ensure that designated personnel who handle or supervise the packaging, transport, and referral of specimens are competent and compliant, contributing to safer laboratory networks and more efficient specimen referral pathways under the Philippine Health Laboratory System (PHLS).
