Standard 7 - Assessment - The competent teacher understands and uses appropriate formative and summative assessments for determining student needs, monitoring student progress, measuring student growth, and evaluating student outcomes. The teacher makes decisions driven by data about curricular and instructional effectiveness and adjusts practices to meet the needs of each student.
7K: Appropriately uses a variety of formal and informal assessments to evaluate the understanding, progress, and performance of an individual student and the class as a whole
This is an example of an attendance log I used for one of my classes while I was student-teaching. Standard 7K greatly connects to this because it helps teachers keep track of student progress on a daily basis. Attendance, dressing properly for class, behavior, and effort were big factors towards students' grades.
7M: Maintains useful and accurate records of student work and performance
This is an example of the grading system my placement used while I was student-teaching. I used Skyward to put in grades for my students as well as for attendance.
