The DILG Pangasinan aims to nurture students through its internship program, helping them enhance and build upon the skills and knowledge they have acquired in their respective schools. This initiative also aims to develop students into potential future members of the department's workforce.
History
Universities and colleges in the Province of Pangasinan and nearby provinces send students to private and government offices for on-the-job training as part of their academic curriculum. Capacity development for these students is critical for their job application readiness and career growth.

Provide comprehensive and structured training for office interns.
Develop interns into experts in their respective roles, enabling them to deliver expected services.
Promote a culture of excellence and accountability
Programmatic Focus
General Objective: To provide work experience that enables students to apply their academic knowledge while acquiring new skills through:
Lectures on the roles, duties, and responsibilities of the department;
Hands-on management of administrative, frontline and financial services;
Participation in various office activities;
Immersion in field operations;
Hands-on practice with office equipment.
Delivery Channels
Meetings: In-person workshops held at the SLGRC
Peer to Peer Learning: Opportunities for personnel to share knowledge and best practices.
Field Exposure: Practical learning experiences through immersion in PO activities.

Governance and Management
The Provincial Director, through the SLGRC Manager, shall oversee the program. The SLGRC Assistant Manager and concerned Section Heads will assist in its implementation.

The program will operate under a partnership model, where the academe is equally responsible and accountable for its operations and outcomes.
