Digital tools to teach circular economy (Di-To)

Rethinking pedagogical approaches and digital tools to teach circular economy: to teach is to learn twice.

Tools > Circular Education Coollaborative Learning Platform

FR • EN

Thanks to the Erasmus+ funding, we could develop an online networking and learning platform specifically meant to connect young adults (higher education students and entrepreneurs ranging from 18-30 y/o) to secondary school students (14-17 y/o) to co-create circular learning journeys together and by working together create meaningful connections with each other.

The benefit for each is (win-win-win):

• Higher education students can put their knowledge to the test and strengthen their organizational and interpersonal skills

• Secondary school students get access to low-cost training

• Entrepreneurs can get access to early test audiences, get feedback on prototypes or create an additional revenue stream - usually much needed in the early stages of starting a business - by teaching masterclasses.

The platform will facilitate various degrees of connection, ranging from teaching a (one off) masterclass or workshop, coaching/teaching during project weeks and summer camps or a more intensive tutoring/mentoring relationship.

By connecting and onboarding universities, schools and entrepreneurial hubs at a regional level, an ecosystem of doers and learners is created that can benefit from each other’s knowledge and experience. The platform will function as a matchmaker. Matches are not made from scratch but around the educational framework and tooling - initially - developed by ULB (video’s), HTWB (game) and Stars Are Circular (Expedition Circular adventures).

The input of partners ULB and HTWB is crucial to understand what key success factors are for effective collaboration between different actors. We want to develop a platform that can be used long term by educational partners in different regions throughout Europe. It is essential to have input from our international partners when working on functional requirements in the early development stage to make sure the tool will be flexible enough to use in all EU countries.

The platform is called sCoolMakers. Create an account to get access and start contributing and creating your learning journey! We have also developed a sCoolMakers Course Guide and Pedagogical Appraoch.
