Rethinking pedagogical approaches and digital tools to teach circular economy: to teach is to learn twice.

The Di-To project will result in the development of four complementary digital tools that will together constitute a ready-to-be-implemented module that could fit in higher education courses related to circular economy, social entrepreneurship or sustainable development.

The entrepreneurs videos (led by ULB) will take the form of four videos relating the course of development of four start-ups and social enterprises active in the fields of circular economy. The idea would be to create the debate and to challenge the students to propose new solutions to the entrepreneur’s problems. These solutions might eventually be used by the entrepreneur himself.

The theme videos, led by the ULB, will consist of two comprehensive videos explaining key challenges (e.g. scaling up after a start-up phase) faced by social entrepreneurship active in the circular economy in a playful and funny way. While there are many videos explaining the concept of circular economy, there is a need for more advanced digital content such as the way circular economy is concretely implemented, the requirements to scale-up circular economy models or the difficulties and challenges.

HTW Berlin develops a teaching module built around a computer-based educational tool (the Game), informed by contemporary research, enhanced by the partner’s input and continually tested in the classroom with students.

Thanks to the Erasmus+ funding, we could develop an online networking and learning platform specifically meant to connect young adults (higher education students and entrepreneurs ranging from 18-30 y/o) to secondary school students (14-17 y/o) to co-create circular learning journeys together and by working together create meaningful connections with each other.
