IA

"An IA is an individual assessment evaluated by the subject teacher with a list of criteria and is usually focused on some subject-related work. Alongside the criteria, samples of the student’s work (oral performances, portfolios, lab reports, and essays) are also submitted to the IB."

The Internal Assessment (IA) is a component of the IB score each student will receive for every IB course. IAs consist of an exploration of a topic within each subject, culminating in an essay or portfolio outlining methodology, results, and reflection. IAs are similar to end-of-course assessments, composing a certain percentage of the total class and IB grade. Each course's IA is weighed differently. Some may be 20% of the final grade, while others may be 10%. More information regarding each IA is coming soon!
