What Is IB?

"The International Baccalaureate (IB) is a global leader in international education—developing inquiring, knowledgeable, confident, and caring young people. Our programmes empower school-aged students to take ownership in their own learning and help them develop future-ready skills to make a difference and thrive in a world that changes fast."

In practice, the IB program at DHHS is a rigorous academic program whose purpose is to prepare students to enter into an increasingly globalized environment after high school. This is achieved through rigorous coursework and examinations, as well as overarching program requirements such as the Extended Essay, the Theory of Knowledge course, and CAS.  Ingrained throughout the program is the learner profile, along with a focus on critical thinking and developing skills for post-graduate success.
