HERE ARE THE TESTIMONIALS FROM OUR TEAM
"I was overjoyed and excited"
Through this topic, I have learned that groundwater pollution is a major and silent problem. Groundwater, which provides about 30% of fresh water on the surface of the world, is polluted by the entry of dangerous substances like those used in agriculture, industries, sewage, landfills, mining, and natural substances like arsenic and fluoride into the ground
The most surprising thing I have learned is that a single drop of gasoline is enough to pollute 1 million liters of groundwater. Such polluted water can give rise to major health issues like cancer, fluorosis, and water-borne diseases. It can also affect agriculture, animals, and the economy.
I have understood that conserving groundwater is a major issue, and we need to conserve groundwater by conserving waste, agriculture, rainwater, and awareness. Groundwater is a precious asset, and everyone should contribute to conserving it.

"vast, exciting, and mind intriguing"
From my experience in the Cyber Fair project, I did a thorough research on the scenario of increased pollution in the city of Faridabad, which is a city in the state of Haryana and is facing a severe environmental crisis due to the increased rate of urbanization and industrialization.
I got an idea about the impact of improper waste management and pollution of the soil, which affects the environment and the people who live there. I got to know that the city of Faridabad generates almost 1,000 tonnes of municipal waste on a daily basis, of which 600 tonnes is not bio-degradable and hence poses a problem in the management of the waste. This improper management of the waste leads to pollution of the soil, which causes the leakage of harmful substances into the earth. The test of the soil revealed that the soil was filled with a high level of chromium, which was 150% more than the permissible limits, along with the presence of lead and cadmium, which were toxic in nature.
This time, I was more confident and motivated to do my project because it was my second time, and my teachers and classmates encouraged me to do.

"I remain stunned when I got to know about all these things."
Through my research on the Bandhwari Landfill site near the city of Faridabad, I learned how improper waste management is resulting in a lot of damage to the environment and human beings. I learned how the site was not handling the amount of waste it was supposed to be handling and how this was resulting in problems such as fires and pollution.
I learned how the methane gas resulting from the decaying matter is resulting in fires, which cause the emission of harmful smoke into the atmosphere, affecting the human beings living around the site. I learned how the leachate, a harmful black liquid, is causing pollution by getting mixed with the soil. This water is causing a lot of harm to human beings, though it looks clean, as it is carrying harmful substances with it.
Most importantly, I learned how waste management is not only about the waste; it is also about issues such as health and environmental problems. I learned how the segregation and management of landfills is a very important task. Through my research, I learned how I need to be more responsible towards nature.
International CyberFair – Waste Management of Faridabad
Through this project on waste management in Faridabad, we gained a deeper understanding of the growing waste problem in our city. We learned the importance of waste segregation at source into wet, dry, and e-waste, and how proper disposal helps reduce pollution and landfill burden.
We also understood the role of the Municipal Corporation and national initiatives like the Swachh Bharat Mission in promoting cleanliness and sustainable practices.
The project helped us develop research, teamwork, and communication skills. Most importantly, we realized that waste management is not only the government’s responsibility but also our duty as responsible citizens.
This experience has made us more aware and committed to keeping our city clean and green.

"A huge collaboration of research, teamwork, understanding our origin."
Hi, my name is Abhijnanam Yoga. I am in class VIII class of Aravali International school.
I think Cyberfair is a fascinating way to learn something new. This year we learned something that was related to our culture and community. Be it our field trip to the gurukul or the extensive research work we did everything had its spell of magic and wonderment. And in the end, I would say this experience was amazing. This was a huge collaboration of research, teamwork, and understanding of our origin.

"Indispensable topic for our India."
From studying the solid waste problem in Faridabad, Haryana, I learned that our city generates a large amount of waste daily, much of which is not properly segregated. Most of it goes to the Bandhwari landfill near Gurugram, which is already overburdened.
Improper waste disposal causes air, soil, and water pollution and releases harmful gases like methane.
This topic made me realize that waste segregation, recycling, and responsible citizen action are essential to keep Faridabad clean and protect the environment.
