Service to others is something that drives me. I am energized by seeing people I care about excel and experience joy as a result of my part in their life. This desire to help others plays out in my personal relationships, at my chosen career, and through my volunteerism.
I have 25 years as an Environmental, Safety and Health professional where leading others to make decisions which are in their best interest. These decisions often require new habits to be the healthiest and safest versions of themselves. These corporate roles have taught me much about individual motivation and communication which reads across nicely to Wellness Coaching.
My most rewarding (and challenging) role as a human is that of father. My three children are growing up quickly and I most recently experienced a proud dad moment when my two oldest ran their first half marathon with Coach Charity and I. This event shows the power of proximity and accountability. Both of the kids have seen me run events for their entire lives, and to them, it was natural to train and complete the 13.1 mile run in 2023.
Speaking of running, my most rewarding example of volunteerism blended with physical pursuit is running for Ainsley's Angels. With this non-profit, runners are fortunate enough to "lend their legs" and partner with an "Angel Rider" who get to participate in a running event they wouldn't otherwise have the opportunity to do.
Lastly, my passion for adventure and self-improvement has grown considerably into my midlife. I have found my partner in this important area of my life. Charity and I challenge each other to be our best selves each and everyday. We do this to achieve life experiences in a bold way, to feel purpose each and every day and be at our best both mentally and physically. She is my accountability partner and I am hers. We, with our clients, are DFI.
