I do moderately stupid things on a semi-regular basis. I never hesitate to say yes to any wild event that a friend, neighbor, or even a stranger invites me to. My thirst for adventure is never-ending and I am always in search of ways to test my physical limits, try new things, and give meaning and purpose to my life. I believe that every moment is precious, that my time is finite and it is my responsibility to squeeze the most out of my time here.I value my health, the people I love and am grateful for their presence in my life.
Being a wellness coach is my dream job. It combines all the things I love and get energized from… helping people, seeing people succeed, science (don’t get that confused with math), fitness, nutrition (and also food), transformation and creating enthusiasm about getting the most out of your life.
As a young girl, I loved hanging out with my dad no matter what he was doing, fishing, jogging, playing basketball, hunting or shooting archery. I was a tall string bean as a teenager and was teased for being extremely thin. As a young lady, I fell in love with running and it quickly became part of my daily life not just as exercise but also to manage stress. I spent most of my 20’s and 30’s running half and full marathons and being in the gym doing cardio every day. I also got an appetite for other things like kayaking, hiking, snow skiing, mountain biking and road biking. In my mid thirties as my kids were becoming more independent, I started doing triathlons and worked up to completing a full Ironman. In my 40’s I started lifting weights, learning to rock and ice climb and started paying more attention and became curious how food was affecting my performance. I also met a circle of friends who were doing obstacle course racing and I quickly found something that challenged me differently than running marathons and doing endurance based activities. This sport requires a combination of speed, strength and strategy and I enjoy it. I more recently learned just how important it is to have an accountability partner and it has given me a new sense of purpose, helped me find a new gear and pushed me in all areas of my life. Devin and I workout most days together, we make and eat most of our meals together and we hold one another to a high standard of eating to perform. I love being in the gym and lifting weights, the science of nutrition and making adjustments to my programming to meet new challenges that Devin and I set individually and together.
My passion for wellness, my 30 years experience as ER nurse and living the most healthy life possible combined with my experience competing in a wide array of different sports allows me to come at coaching from a very well rounded perspective. I am able to support any person no matter how small or lofty their goals may be for their health and wellness.
I have taken the time to become educated about nutrition and I am constantly seeking new evidenced based information. I live to help others feel as energetic and lively as I do every day. So here I am, ready to use my gifts to help others make changes to enhance their health and wellness.
