God is Near Us
24 “The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. 25 And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else. 26 From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. 27 God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us.
God has many attributes...Many of His attributes are written throughout the Bible...Some of His attributes are in the above scriptures...God is perfect, holy, and good...He is all knowing, the truth, the way, and life itself...He is also LOVE, unchanging, and the most humble ever to be...God is not selfish...He is merciful and eternal...God is perfectly just and therefore, the Perfect Judge...God is all-powerful and in control...He is Our Creator, who made the world and everything in it...So God has a Complete Understanding of all things...God is always present and therefore, is not far from any of us...He is self sufficient, and is not served by human hands, as if He needs anything...He has many more attributes, because of His being infinite and eternal...
Since He is perfect, holy, and good -He is always wanting us to be better and to get better...He wants us to be like His Son...When we read the gospels, we see that Jesus sees different things in and about man, than we see...We treasure and desire things that Jesus says that are only temporary and on this earth...He wants us to reach the potential He sees in us...He is always trying to discipline, change, educate, and make us better...Without Him in us we will never reach the potential He sees in us...Jesus wants us to think more eternal, than temporary...No one can reach this potential that God sees in us, except through His Son, and with His help...
God is also humble, gentle, full of glory, completely unselfish, forgiving, and merciful...God is Truth...God is unchanging...And He is LOVE, joy, kind, patience, full of peace, faithful to all, gentle, good, and has complete self control...
God also is so full of grace...He has to be, when we think about it...We are sinners and for some strange reason (we) cannot help from sinning...God is completely unselfish, and He is forgiving...All of His attributes are Great, of course, because He is Great...But forgiveness stands out for me...I think this is why in the LORD's Prayer He mentions and has forgiveness a major theme in His Prayer...It is one (of many of His attributes), we need on earth...It is always important to remember Jesus came for sinners and sinners need forgiveness...We are made in God's Image, and when we sin, we sin against Him...Because there has been sin since the Fall of Adam and Eve, we need Jesus and His attribute of forgiveness...When we reach our absolute potential that He sees in us, we will have reached the Kingdom, His Kingdom, the Kingdom of God, heaven -that which is eternal...
