Learning is how we all do better, but we don't all necessarily learn the same way. Some of us learn from reading books or by watching videos on a subject. Others may need to go out and explore an area or structure in order to really learn. Homeschooling and online classes are more popular now than ever, but not all households are created equal. Some of us can learn more when we are alone, but for others they do better in large groups.
For a lot of people, touching, seeing things in real life, having extra time to absorb information, being in a small group or alone with dedicated one on one attention, with less noise or startling sounds allows retention of information, as well as an enjoyable experience. Being allowed to hold, sometimes feeling the weight of an object is how we learn. Often "advanced studies" are available only once you enter a large expensive College leaving way too many of us out.
You may want to learn about an area or its wildlife simply because you are moving there, but not necessarily want to take college courses on it! But where do you go?
Knowing all of this, the dNa created a special Museum of its own. Anyone wanting to learn about our local desert wildlife can come and receive a guided tour or class catered to their specific needs, filled with as much information as they can stand.
The DNA's "Collection" contains parts, pieces and even entire skeletons of found local wildlife that are displayed for education. Our home base here at the foothills of the Superstition is the perfect setting to showcase just how special the Sonoran desert is. The DNA also has a YouTube Channel ( Oh So Stace and The Desert Nature Alliance) with videos uploaded daily for even more educational support!
